About Me

Hello! My name is Alex Reinke (as you probably may have guessed) and I am a junior studying Advertising and Public Relations at Grand Valley State University.   Throughout my time at Grand Valley, I have changed my major three times.  My freshman year, I started off as a Secondary Education major with an emphasis in English and History.  I changed that major within my first couple of weeks to International Relations.  Through that program, I was exposed to the Arabic language.  I grasped on to the language and I developed a fascination for it.  Although I switched out of the International Relations program into my current program, Advertising and Public Relations, I am still taking Arabic classes.

Outside of school, I have a very wide range of hobbies.  My family and I are very fond of the outdoors, so I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, boating, etc.  Earlier this summer, my extended family and I went on a chartered fishing boat on Lake Michigan.  We had a blast, and caught many different types of fish ranging from Salmon, Lake Perch, Trout and even a few Bluegills.  I also enjoy watching movies, writing, sleeping in, watching the Detroit Lions, and hanging out with my friends.  However, one of my main passions in life is music.  I like listening, preforming, and even occasionally writing music critiques.

After college, I would like to have a Public Relations job with a firm that allows me to travel a lot outside of the job.  I want to be able to travel to far reaches of the earth and travel to different places.  I would really like to travel to the Middle East and visit places such as Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.  I would also like to venture out to Europe, Central America, Australia and South Korea.
